    With over 25 years of experience in the music and entertainment industry, Jamez T, also known as King Yao has carved out a legacy of leadership, creativity, and vision. As the youngest of two visionary brothers from Birmingham, Alabama, Jamez co-founded GenisysFilms alongside his older brother Terez, united by a shared dream: to tell captivating stories that resonate deeply and inspire globally. Growing up in Smithfield, Birmingham, wasn’t easy, but the challenges shaped Jamez into a dynamic force in the industry, a director, executive producer, music producer, and writer whose work reflects both grit and grace. His leadership style is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

    At GenisysFilms, he fosters a culture that feels like family, where storytelling is not just an art but an experience. Jamez believes in living boldly and creatively, often saying, “Shoot life like it’s a movie.” Under his guidance, GenisysFilms continues to push boundaries, producing projects that are as powerful as they are unforgettable. With a passion for visual storytelling and a background rooted in both filmmaking and creative strategy, Kay leads each project with a hands-on, heart-forward approach whether it’s a grassroots docuseries, a gritty music video, or branded corporate content.

    Known for her ability to blend raw emotion with cinematic polish, Kay oversees every stage of production from concept development and scriptwriting to directing, and editing. Her work reflects a commitment to uplifting underrepresented voices and capturing stories that matter, especially within Southern communities.

    As Creative Director, Kay doesn’t just create she curates powerful narratives that inspire, challenge, and connect.

    Marieo Tarez Kinion Sr. is a visionary force in the entertainment industry, known for crafting bold, high-impact projects that resonate with global audiences. As the founder of GenisysFilms and Kinion Brothers Entertainment, he champions cinematic innovation through compelling storytelling and scalable creative ventures.

    His acting debut in Justice On Trial (2020) earned him an IMDb credit and marked the beginning of a dynamic creative journey. In his role as Vice President of Coccroach Records, Marieo blends strategic insight with artistic passion to shape the future of music. His leadership is defined by a rare combination of creativity and business acumen, making him a trusted figure for investors seeking meaningful growth in film and music.

Meet our Talent

Layla Kinion is an electrifying force on stage, an actress and singer whose energy lights up every performance! A proud Birmingham, AL native born and raised, she discovered her love for the spotlight early and has been captivating audiences ever since. With an Associate’s degree in Theatre from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, Layla brings powerhouse talent and professional polish to every role. From heartfelt dramas to high-octane musicals, Layla’s dynamic stage presence and soaring vocals make each character unforgettable. She’s wowed audiences as part of Sister Act: The Musical with Theatre in the Square and is set to shine in the upcoming productions of Little Shop of Horrors and A Sage Christmas with Marietta Theatre Company. Layla thrives on the magic of storytelling and the thrill of connecting with audiences. Whether making you laugh, cry, or cheer, she transforms every performance into an experience you won’t forget, and she’s only just getting started!
